Blog # 4 - Holidays, cubes, laptops and Scratch

August 24, 2025

Weird combination, isn't it? Well we haven't been together for a whopping 15 days, and a lot has happened.

I went on holiday. Specifically, to the Canary Islands, and even more specifically, to Lanzarote. I spent a week there in a villa with a private pool with me and seven family members, which is just asking for chaos.
To be honest, I don't have much to say about that week, apart from that fact that i bought some carbon fiber Rubik's Cubes (that turn surprisingly well) and ate some Spanish food.

Now for the UK Championships. I competed in 2x2x2 and 3x3x3 and this is how it went.

Saturday

I came at opening time (8am) ater waking up at about 6am for the 1.5-hour car ride. I competed in 3x3 on Saturday, having an average of 30.63. My times were 28.99, (34.40), 28.50, 36.18, and (22.59), being my PR single. Unfortunately, I didn't make it into round 2 (i was 354th and only the top 300 went into round 2). I then bought the MoYu AoFu v5 7x7 with single track and the MoYu WeiLong Pyraminx (reviews coming soon?). I also bought this cool cubing hat from a vendor called CubeMunkey(not sponsored).

Sunday

Before the competition even started, my grandad being the goat he is put the battery in my GAN 356 i Carry, somehow being able to unscrew the tiny screws. Then, I rebuilt the cube, and got back to the comp for opening time. The first round was 2x2, which I competed in. I got an average of 5.84, with my times being 6.71, 5.61, (10.59+2=12.59), 5.21 and (4.17). Now, let's talk about that 12.59, shall we? Because I don't know what I did to that cube, but now I have beef with the number 3.
I started the solve out like normal, until I finished, did the wrong AUF, then stopped the timer. But I didn't stop the timer. Then, for some damn reason, I decided to stop the timer instead of fixing the AUF. WHAT????? WHY?!?!?!?!?!? Anyways crashout over.

That's it for the UK Nationals. I watched every event, and left for 5:30.

In case you didnt know, I use a school chromebook for all my coding, including writing my blogs, as I have to do that in HTML. And that sucks because it only has 8GB of RAM, has so many damn restrictions (I can't even type "crap" without it getting flagged, and since websites, such as neocities, are blocked, I have to use online compilers), and worst of all, I can't run any exes that the school didn't appove of, basically meaning I can't run installers or anything. Only the very limited selection of apps in the Google Play Store. That's a problem because of the aforementioned coding. If you haven't put it together yet somehow, this computer sucks ASS for coding. That's why I'm getting a proper laptop with 512 GB SSD and 16GB RAM for Christmas. By 2026, expect:

Which leads me to my final part of this blog of ungodly length: Five Nights at Joe's, a game based off of FNaF on Scratch. I've only done the title screen... Download the sb3 file for the title here. Expect it some time in 2026 if I don't scrap it, like all the other ones.

That's it for this blog. It's a very long one, just because I did so much in 15 days.

Choccy out.
